Frequently asked questions

Pricing, production, and process details for custom coloring book projects. For anything not covered here: customerservice@curiouscustom.com or 312-529-8658.

How are your custom coloring books created?

We work with you to choose the best images for your book, and our artists draw every page by hand from them. Drawn by hand, never by AI: every page is original artwork made for your project.

How much does a custom coloring book cost?

Price depends on page count, quantity and the service you choose. The per-book price drops as quantity goes up. For an exact number, use the instant quote tool: configure your book and see the full price in about two minutes. We email you the estimate right away.

What is the minimum order?

You can order as few as 50 printed copies. Most clients order 500 or more, where the per-book price is much lower, and it keeps dropping at 1,000, 2,500, 5,000 and 10,000.

What is the turnaround time?

Standard turnaround is approximately 45 days from your order to delivery, covering illustration, your proof approval, printing, and shipping. For tight deadlines, artwork can be completed in as little as 24 hours and printing in as little as 72 hours for a rush fee. Every order gets a guaranteed delivery date.

How many pages should my book have?

Standard books run 4 to 24 interior pages. Note that professionally printed and bound books require a page count divisible by four (4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24). Otherwise the book ends with blank pages. We’ll confirm the right count for your format during quoting.

What sizes and binding options are available?

The most common sizes are 8.5" × 11" and 5.5" × 8.5". Nearly all books are saddle-stitch bound, which offers the best combination of quality and value; spiral binding is also available. For a specific size, binding, or paper stock, contact customerservice@curiouscustom.com for a custom quote.

How does proofing and delivery work?

Before anything prints, you receive a complete high-resolution PDF proof for approval, with a revision round included. Once approved, your books are printed in the USA and shipped via UPS with a guaranteed delivery date.

What does the process look like end to end?

Five steps. (1) Price your book online. (2) Agreement and invoice: payment terms are confirmed on your invoice. Most orders are paid in full before work begins; larger orders can be split into a deposit and a balance before printing. (3) Send your images and any notes by email or upload. (4) Our artists hand-draw every page; you review the PDF proof and request adjustments. (5) We print, bind, and ship to your door.

Can you work within our brand guidelines?

Yes. Logos, brand colors, approved fonts, and mascots are standard requirements for our corporate clients, and the PDF proof stage is built for brand-team sign-off before printing. We also work within university brand-review and licensing approval processes.

Can we supply our own artwork, or order illustration only?

Both options are available. With print-only service, you provide print-ready files and we handle printing, binding, and delivery. With illustration-only service, our artists deliver original hand-drawn artwork as print-ready files for your own production. Most clients combine both for the best overall value.

Do you offer branded crayons or colored pencils?

Yes. Logo-imprinted crayon 4-packs and colored pencil sets are available in quantities from 250 to 10,000+ and are typically paired with book orders.

How do reorders work?

Your artwork remains on file, so reorders skip the illustration phase entirely: quote, print, ship. Many clients reorder seasonally or extend books across additional properties, campuses, or campaigns.

Do you work with agencies and event planners?

Yes, regularly. We coordinate behind the scenes, route proofs through your client’s approval process, work to your timeline, and ship wherever the program requires.
